The Round Chapel Families Project is a community project based upstairs at the Round Chapel Old School Rooms in Clapton that aims to support and engage families living in the local area.

The project is managed by Clapton Park URC alongside its other community projects: Urban Table, Clapton Community Drop-in and Community Meal.

We employ a Families Worker who coordinates a programme of free and by-donations term-time activities and drop-in sessions for parents/carers/grandparents with under 5s.   Supported by session workers and volunteers, the weekly programme includes a Stay and Play, a Cook & Play club, a single parent social group, a creative session for parents & toddlers, a community lunch, a singing group for parents & toddlers with older residents from the local carehome, an intergenerational community cafe and a social group for families facing housing struggles or living in temporary accommodation.

We have strong links in the community – including hosting events and developing projects with the Hackney Real Nappy Network, Carryme Bikes and Adrenalin Dance.

The Families Project works closely with our on site community nursery and many families who participate in our drop-in sessions upstairs choose to send their children to the Round Chapel Nursery.

Our doors are welcome to all families.
